Mobile Ad Co. Acquired
Mobile advertising startup Adelphic has been acquired by Viant, part of Time Inc. The move comes after Viant itself was bought by Time Inc last year.
Despite the noteworthy nature of the deal, figures have not been released. However, it’s thought to be a fairly large deal, considering the $23 million of venture capital raised by Adelphic.
The acquisition is seen by Time Inc as a strategic move. They want to marry Adelphic with Viant’s cloud technology to create a mobile-first product.
Viant Co-Founder and CEO Tim Vanderhook said: “This addition will give marketers and their agencies the globally scaled people-based platform they have been consistently asking from us.”
He also stated that the move to combine Viant and Adelphic will create “the first people-based DSP capable of reaching more than 1 billion consumers worldwide”.
In conclusion, the deal is set to be wrapped up within the first 3 months of 2017.
